The original plan was to have a podcast broken up into parts, (which may still be the case) but with the PC press conference, and all the press conferences running so long (also them timezones) we ended up saying EHH WE'LL RECORD WEDS!
Since these podcasts are all going to be super E3 heavy, I'd just like to say MAN HDN 2 is still a really good game. I'm loving it, been picking up a handful of games through the steam sale, but I'm trucking through HDN2 proper. I'm about 20 hours in, and it honestly feels like I'm smashing through the game at a breakneck pace, but I think that has a lot to do with I know how the systems and mechanics work now, so I know what to do and what not to do.
That, and I have DLC to give me ridiculous amounts of EXP and a insanely strong weapon for Nepgear, which has allowed to me sail through most of the story missions with relatively little trouble!
Doesn't feel like there are nearly as many side dungeons as there were in the first Hyperdimension Neptunia, and while those were little more than reskins, it's still a bit of a bummer. They're mitigating having less dungeons that are just reskins by having the majority of dungeons have multiple floors, with different enemies on each floor, but that's a bit annoying because if you need to farm a specific enemy, you end up having to run through first floor to the next (which dungeons are small in these games, so it's not that big of a deal) but it's a minor inconvenience and I can't really think of much else to criticize the game over.
I'll have a review up when I finish the first game proper, and I'll probably list everything I bought on steam because I bought quite a few games on the steam sale, and a few other postings here and there. I thought I was going to have a light work week this week so I scheduled things a bit recklessly, but that turned out to not be the case at all, and I work more days in the week this week than I did the past 3 weeks of us being short a person. The reason being is that for some reason there's a "super festival" happening in this area, I have no idea of what or any details on it, but as a result EVERYONE gets to work 5 - 7 days of the week.
It's not a bad thing, it just means my time spent with Neptunia (and a few other games I'm itching to try) will be drastically cut (roughly 10 hours out of the day that I'm not working) instead of my usual dedication of 16-18hrs a day.
That might seem like a big number to most people (and reading it out holy crap that really is a lot of time spent in games) but this is my hobby, I live in the middle of nowhere, and I'm not married, I don't have kids, and I have a lot of free time so I may as well burn it doing something I enjoy, right? Right.
It also gives me a unique perspective on games length, as most people my age (26) are reaching a point where they only have a handful of hours a day to be able to do anything leisurely, they enjoy games they can complete in short bursts, while I essentially have the free time of a college student, able to dedicate several hundreds of hours to games that allow for it.
It's also lead me to want to write an article or two about investment, the cost of games not only in price, but in time, and things like that. I might just start writing articles at work so I can bring them home and type them up to give you guys something new on a more regular basis, hah!
