If you guys are wondering why I haven't been talking about any new games lately (aside from the fact that there aren't really any games coming out! Well, that, and I let Barry borrow Bayo2 and still haven't gotten it back from him) It's because post PAX South, I started playing Smite.
We've heard the RoosterTeeth guys talking about Smite for a while now, and they really seem to enjoy it. We were given free skins during PAX South, and they cleverly require you to download their game and use codes in-client.
This lead to us playing a few matches, getting stomped into the ground, quitting, and having Jamie come on board and teach us how to MOBA. The result is that we play this game quite regularly much to our surprise. It's a lot more fun than I thought it would be, and I'm pretty impressed with how "beginner friendly" the game is. It's not nearly as daunting as DOTA or LOL, but it's still got quite a bit of depth to it.
I've been wanting to dabble in the MOBA genre for a while, it was just the raw intimidation of MOBAs that kept me out for so long. Now that I'm diving in head first, it seems much easier to wrap my mind around. We'll see where I go with this, but I'm hoping it becomes a regular thing for me!
