Nintendo has won :(
I have been defeated, comrades.
I've been thinking about picking up a Wii U for a while, going so far to admit I'd be picking one up today if I could, but upon seeing the price, I immediately became hesitant. I didn't want to pay $300 for a Wii U, after all, knowing I could find one online much cheaper!
So I was going to pass. I decided to pick up a few amiibo (bottom shelf) and put them into my shopping cart. Then I decided, I might as well get a Pro Controller while they had them, as they've been sold out of my local walmart for a while.
I don't remember much else, it's a blur, but by the time I left the store I had a Wii U, 4 new amiibo, Smash Wii U, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, and a Pro Controller. I honestly have no idea how I got to this point in my life, having 15 of the 18 released amiibo, and a Wii U.
I honestly have no recollection of how my desire for a Wii U even came to fruition. I've been wanting to play Hyrule Warriors for a while, but that wasn't a system seller. I joked about it being so on the podcast, but in reality I was never going to buy a Wii U. I was going to pick up a Xbox One this holiday season, until I started collecting amiibo. I don't even know why I started doing that, honestly. My only suspicion is that having a friend who I played smash with immediately interested me in the idea of amiibo, and that lead me on a downward spiral of eventually buying Nintendo's home console.
It's .. devious, and ingenious. I own a plethora of amiibo, and I keep hearing more and more games that will potentially make use of them, both backwards and forwards.. It's disgustingly intelligent marketing from Nintendo, slithering their tendrils into our minds to slowly convince us that hey we have this micro-ecosystem going on, we may as well take full part!
This is also my way of letting you all know that I have a Wii U now, so I'll begin reviewing and covering those games as well as PS4 games & PC games. HURRAH
