FFXIV - 'Bout 2 weeks later.

Been playing the game pretty extensively, and I have to say, the charm doesn't wear off.

I finally started doing dungeons, doing crafting, and leveling up other classes -- this game doesn't skimp on the content, at all. I constantly have so much to do, I find myself feeling overwhelmed, almost.

Right now, I have my THM at level 26, working on level 27 so I can continue the main story quest. I've been skipping doing sidequests to this point, so I have quests for my alternate classes to do -- focusing solely on the main story. The story is pretty interesting, and the quests are very extensive. Questing isn't the only way to level in this game, though, and it may not even be the most efficient -- I find dungeon runs to provide MUCH more experience and far greater loot and money than any quest I've done .. and that's saying a lot.

The dungeons are very fun with each "end boss" having their own mechanics you have to watch out for. I've even run a dungeon that was just one boss; it was very fun, because the entire focus was on making sure this guy didn't get to pull off a OHKO attack.

This game has certainly proved it's charm, and I'm not feeling burnt out in the slightest, yet, which is surprising for a game of this type. The constant, short term goals I have to achieve, mixed with the long term endgame goals is something that keeps me coming back for more. Having experimented with multiple classes, I have to say the depth is there for everyone; I was a bit worried that the mages and other "range" classes would end up being the most complex of the lot, but that was untrue. Every class, even the tanks, require knowledge and skill to perform amicably, and in dungeons the tanks have the most difficult jobs of all; it's a very satisfying game, and I can see myself spending more time with this game than I do any other MMO.

My only concern is me becoming distracted when other games start coming out and having something else to play.. but I don't see that being a problem, truly. I'll always come back to this game, because there's always that little nagging feeling of "I could be doing this in FFXIV...." while I'm doing anything else.

I'm smitten, and this is seriously contender for my GOTY. (It came out on PS4 this year, shh)
